SAM GREEN SINGER/SONGWRITER POET OF OUR TIMES
Sam Green and the Time Machine’s music is a cross
between James Taylor and Van Morrison, a bit like Simon
and Garfunkel, only original.
Sam was the local
watchmaker for over forty years in Swan St. and he began
at the age of 9 years old, working after school His
father was the watchmaker speechwriter and poet there in
Richmond for 58 years, writing Russian and Yiddish.
After father died in
2008 at the age of 95 Sam devoted more time to singing
and writing, Sam Green has nine albums, many on ITunes
and other outlets, including these two current albums
"There's a Tree" and "Love, Love, Love" which are sold
on his web site and performances.
He has the web site
MrMusicman.com which receives about 14,000 visits a
month world wide last count, once he received 100, 000
hits a week, that was in 1997.
In the past he was DJ
promoting live music in Melbourne on radio station 3CR
Local and Live that was many years ago in 1994.
At that time Sam was
also workshop coordinator in Australian Songwriters
Association, that was when it was based in Melbourne and
meeting were at the old muso club in St. Kilda, now they
are in Sydney, a different world.
Music business is like
surfing; a big wave comes and can take you far,
Today, Sam Green is host of Local, Live and
International a hour show on Lion 1674 also based in
Melbourne.
Sam came together with
Peter Madden to form the latest Sam Green & the Time
Machine, of which there is a free song download, on his
web site. He has written much which was recorded from
funds of his early royalties including 5 books of free
thought poetry, free to download, on his MrMusicman.com
website.
Barbara, Sam’s wife who
died over eighteen years ago, dying wish that Sam take
his music to the world. Having no children, just the
children of the world, to pass on his message of how
life can be more than a blessing if you try to live in
peace and harmony. For his music is truly a blessing of
living and loving the road you are on.
Sam Green would love to
tour and play all his life, if funded, by more air play.
As his father said, it takes two to tango, but many can
watch and enjoy too. His music is an expression of a
musical poet of our times, in voice, lyric and tune. He
would love to play on any program on television or
radio. The duo is willing to play for charities. Most
things we charge a minimum amount to cover costs. We
both have a current working with children check permit
from the state of Victoria.
